Employment and Volunteer Opportunities

CLA seeks a motivated self-starter with a passion for service and advocacy to serve as our NYIC Americorps VISTA. CLA’s NYIC VISTA will support the advancement of immigrants’ rights through indirect, capacity-building work.

NYIC VISTAs are Americorps VISTAs who--through the New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC)--engage in a year of full-time paraprofessional service at CLA, where they work on various capacity-building projects.

CLA’s NYIC VISTA will focus on fundraising, as well as developing CLA’s prospective Pro Bono Project. The VISTA’s activities will primarily include grant research and writing, recruitment of volunteer, pro bono private attorneys and the creation and development of the Pro Bono Project. Secondary activities include maintaining CLA’s communications and social media presence as well as supporting the development of CLA’s internal workflow and communication procedures. The ability to speak a second language is a plus.

Applications must be submitted through the Americorps online portal, linked above. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
